# Your account

There’s no password: you sign in with a link emailed to you. Your account’s settings hold the time zone new sites start in, the day your weeks start on, your connected apps and your API tokens.

Two settings decide how your figures read: the time zone a new site starts counting in, and the day your weeks start on. The other two decide who else can read your stats: every app you’ve connected and every API token you’ve made is listed, and can be cut off there.

## Signing in

On [Sign in](https://fiveb.ar/login), enter your email address, and fivebar emails you a link. The link works once, within 15 minutes. It opens a page with a Continue button: press it to sign in. Opening the link doesn’t use it up, since some email services open every link in a message to check it.

You land on your [Sites](https://fiveb.ar/sites), or on the page that asked you to sign in, such as a dashboard. You stay signed in on that browser for 30 days, then sign in again.

Open a site your account can’t see and the page says there’s nothing there, and which address you’re signed in with. If the site is on another account, choose **Sign in with another account**: the link it emails signs you in as that one and brings you back to the same page. Until you use it, you stay signed in as you are.

An address can have up to 3 unused links at a time. Use one of those, or ask again once one has run out.

If you’re asked to sign in while connecting an app, open the link on the same device, in the same browser. Opened anywhere else, it signs you in there but doesn’t connect the app: start again from the app. See [Connecting apps](https://fiveb.ar/docs/mcp.md).

## Without an account

During the beta, sign-up is closed: only an address that already has an account can sign in, and there’s no waiting list. Any other address typed into the sign-in form sees the same page as one with an account, so the form never reveals who has one, but no link is sent.

## Signing out

Sign out is in the bar at the top of Sites, Settings and your dashboards. It signs you out of that browser only: anywhere else stays signed in until you sign out there too or its 30 days are up. Your connected apps stay connected, and your API tokens keep working until you revoke them.

## Settings

[Settings](https://fiveb.ar/settings), in the same bar, cover your account as a whole. Each site has settings of its own, behind the cog beside it on Sites: see [Sites](https://fiveb.ar/docs/sites.md).

- **Time zone**: the one a site you add starts counting in, UTC until you choose another. Type a place, such as London, to find a zone, or use the one your device is set to. Each site keeps its own from then on, so a change here changes no site already added: change those in their own settings, as [Sites](https://fiveb.ar/docs/sites.md#time-zone) describes.
- **Weeks**: the day your weeks start on, Monday until you choose Sunday. The dashboards you open follow it: This week and Last week from that day come first in the [date picker](https://fiveb.ar/docs/date-ranges.md), the calendar’s rows start on it, the chart counts its weeks from it, and [Hours](https://fiveb.ar/docs/metrics.md#hours) puts it at the top. So do your weekly [email reports](https://fiveb.ar/docs/email-reports.md), which come on that day. Links aren’t changed by it: a link to This week opens the same dates for everyone.
- **Connected apps**: the apps that can read your stats, newest first, each with where it goes back to and whether it can [change settings](https://fiveb.ar/docs/mcp.md#changing-settings), when it was connected and when its access ends, and a button to disconnect it. A disconnected app usually loses access within a minute. Add, under the list, leads to [Connecting apps](https://fiveb.ar/docs/mcp.md), and while none is connected the list gives the address to add to one.
- **API tokens**: the tokens your scripts read the stats API with, newest first, each with the sites it reads, when it was made and when it was last used, and a button to revoke it at once. Make one under the list: see [Making a token](https://fiveb.ar/docs/api.md#making-a-token).

## Deleting your account

There’s no button for it: email [mail@fiveb.ar](mailto:mail@fiveb.ar) to have your account deleted. Your sites go with it, with their stats and settings, and so do your groups and email reports. Every browser you’re signed in on is signed out, every app you connected is disconnected, every API token you made is revoked, and any sign-in link waiting is cancelled. It can’t be undone, and the address can no longer sign in.

To delete one site and keep your account, use the site’s settings: see [Deleting a site](https://fiveb.ar/docs/sites.md#deleting-a-site). For what fivebar keeps, and for how long, see [Privacy](https://fiveb.ar/privacy/index.md).
