Email reports
Turn on a weekly report, a monthly one or both, and a site’s figures come to you by email the morning after the period ends.
A report is the dashboard in brief, for the week or the month just gone: the five figures beside the period before, pageviews day by day, and the top pages, sources and countries, with a link to the dashboard on the same dates. Each site’s reports are two switches in its settings, and come only to you.
Turning one on
In the site’s settings, behind Settings on its dashboard, under Email reports, tick Weekly, Monthly or both, and choose Save. Both are off until you do, and the settings say when the first will come. A report you turn on starts with the next period: nothing is sent for a week that ended before you asked.
When it comes
At 9am in the site’s own time zone:
- Weekly, on Mondays, for the week just gone, Monday to Sunday. If your weeks start on Sunday, chosen in your account’s settings, it comes on Sundays, for Sunday to Saturday.
- Monthly, on the 1st, for the month just gone.
A report that can’t be sent that hour is tried again each hour until the day is out, and one missed altogether isn’t sent late: its figures are still on the dashboard.
What it holds
- Pageviews, visits, visitors, bounce rate and visit duration, each with its change since the week or month before, as the dashboard shows them. See Metrics.
- A chart of pageviews for each day. A monthly report names the busiest day.
- The top 5 pages, sources and countries, by pageviews.
- A button that opens the dashboard on the report’s dates.
The figures are read the way the dashboard reads them, so the two agree. Bots and the traffic the site excludes are left out, as they are everywhere else, and visitors are visitor-days: someone who came on three days counts three times.
The email loads nothing from anywhere, no logo, font or pixel, so opening it tells nobody anything.
Who gets it
Only you, at the address you sign in with. A site with public stats sends its report to nobody else, and a site you delete sends no more.
Turning it off
Untick the switch in the site’s settings and choose Save. Every report links to those settings at its foot.
Reports from an app
An app connected over MCP, such as Claude, can ask fivebar on a schedule and tell you how your sites did in its own words, across every site at once and with why each figure moved.
