Kiro can read your fivebar stats over MCP, and answer questions about them.

Ask it about your sites in your own words, such as why traffic jumped on Tuesday, and it answers from your figures, following fivebar’s rules about what they mean. Working in your site’s code, it can also add fivebar to it and check it’s working. Connecting is adding fivebar’s address, signing in and choosing Allow, with no key to copy.

Add fivebar

To add fivebar to the editor from a link, open Add fivebar to Kiro. Kiro asks you to confirm before it adds it.

Or add it yourself, to ~/.kiro/settings/mcp.json for every workspace, or .kiro/settings/mcp.json for one:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "fivebar": {
      "url": "https://fiveb.ar/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Sign in

Kiro opens fivebar to sign in the first time it connects. In the editor, a notice at the lower right offers to authenticate. In Kiro CLI, /mcp auth signs in again, and /mcp logout signs out.

fivebar opens in your browser. Sign in if you need to, check that the page names Kiro, and choose Allow. Kiro can then read the stats of every site on your Sites page, and changes nothing of yours unless you also tick the box to let it change settings.

Try it

Ask Kiro about your sites in your own words, such as:

Removing it

Delete fivebar from mcp.json.

To stop Kiro reading your stats from fivebar’s side, disconnect it in Settings.

Good to know

Kiro CLI took the place of Amazon Q Developer CLI in November 2025, and q chat still starts it.
